In this paper, the author explores the basic tenets of "distributed leadership" emphasizing the collaborative and reciprocal nature of this idea. The author explains that "distributed leadership" means focusing on interactions between leaders and followers in given situations rather than solely focusing on actions of the individual leader. The author argues that distributed leadership is a helpful perspective for thinking about effective school leadership.
